Do Good People Go To Heaven?

Do Good People Go To Heaven?

The short answer is no. Nor do sinners (bad people)

Who will enter the Kingdom of Heaven

The bible is very clear on this. In Matthew 7:21–23 it states that “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord Lord’, shall enter the kingdom of heaven.” So this shows that not everyone will go to heaven, but some obviously will. If we break this verse down further, “On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ Take that in. “I never knew you’. Clearly stating that your works do not matter at all- for your salvation.

Then who are those that get to go to heaven? “Jesus answered him, Truly, Truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:3) “Jesus answered to him, ‘’ I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes through the father except through me”. (John 14:6). “For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16). Think about what these verses mean and meditate on them. He gives you the one and only answer on how to get to heaven.

1. Jesus Christ is your only way to heaven.

2. You must be born again. What is being born again? This is the process of turning from living for yourself and being a slave to sin to being a child of God. Gaining faith in Jesus. Repent of your sins, confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, you’re in need of a savior and headed towards damnation and you understand Jesus is the only way to be saved from the depths of Hell. Develop a direct and personal relationship through God.

3. Believe in Jesus Christ. Believe in him; believe his word; have faith.

So you see, the people labeled ‘good’ or ‘bad’ is not the question to ask when it comes to going to heaven. In reality, we are all bad, none of us are righteous (Rom 3:10). We all sin, breaking only one of God’s commandments is enough to deserve eternal damnation. We are all headed to Hell…unless we accept Christ as our savior. He saves us from being damned when WE are the ones still sinning against God. All you have to do is confess that Lord is God and know you are a sinner in need of salvation.

Salvation is by faith not works!

Then why do we do ‘works’ and try to follow God’s commands if they do not save us?

Clearly, your salvation has nothing to do with you and only depends on God. (He actually chooses to save you, you don’t choose him-this is going to be another blog topic). Our works reflects who we are in Christ. We follow his commands not to be saved but to show honor to him and our thanks and love for his mercy on us. It glorifies him to those around us.

Your works should have others see a difference in you which points to God; God’s love is different from ours and we should glorify that everywhere we go. Our work is the product of our salvation. We don’t carry our good works in order to remain in God’s grace, or because we have to, but we do because we love the Lord and desire too. None of us can keep the law — God’s commands — perfectly, which is why we need Jesus. (Eph 2:8–10)

Your main focus

Your main focus Should NOT be on how to get into heaven. Heaven is the beautiful benefit of believing in Christ; it’s our reward. Your focus should be on accepting Jesus as savior and understanding how gracious he is to us. Getting answers to those big questions so you know the danger you’re in before being in Christ and knowing how much of a sinner you are.

“Why did the Lord save me? Who is Jesus? Why am I considered a sinner? How can one man die for the entire world? Is believing in Jesus really my only way to Heaven? Why do I need Jesus Christ? Sharing the truth of the Good News should also be a top focus on yours. We are all headed down the path of destruction until the holy spirit does a works in us, it starts by hearing the gospel. ( Gospel is translated into the ‘good news’). We are to spread the love of God and give him glory in all things, he has commanded us to spread his word.

Conclusion:

Let me conclude with this final thought for you all to sit back and really meditate on. Who runs heaven? Who runs hell? If your answer for the first one is God correct. If your answer for the last one is The devil/ Lucifer/ Satan, you’re wrong and you need to get to know how powerful your creator is. Have fear in the creator of all things; the one that can damn the body and the soul, or bless the body and the soul, not of earthly things.
